Тому, уряд країни оголосив конкурс на постачання спеціальних тренувальних патронів, які будуть швидко розкладатися і, крім того, міститимуть насіння рослин.Після того, як гільза потрапить у ґрунт насіння має проростати, перетворюючись на польову квітку.

На даний момент такі патрони планують використовувати лише на тренувальних полігонах. А під час справжніх боїв солдати американської армії користуватимуться звичайними металевими патронами. Проте і так під час справжніх бойових дій забруднення гільзами значно більше ніж під час тренувань.
Гільза може мати вигляд як на фото нижче (за проектом художника й інженера Пера Кромвела). Більшу половину простору у гільзі займає насіння. Значення проекту символічне: патрон замість забрати життя, навпаки дає його.
Є ще одна цікава вимога полігону з цього приводу: щоб полімери, з яких виготовлялися б гільзи, могли бути використані у інших пластикових виробах. Щоб на квіткові поля перетворювалися старі монітори, пластикові іграшки, звичайні пляшки. Або навіть цілі будівельні конструкції після закінчення будови перетворювалися не на сміття а на галявини біля новобудови.
